Rider of the Year IV info coming soon!

What up whitewater rager! Awesome, thanks for contributing/submitting an entry.  We’d be stoked if you could send in the highest quality possible so we can produce another sick ROTY as well as get the highest viewership possible for you and our sport through this event…

We know how it is dealing with footage, converting, handling large files, slow uploads BUT last year our ROTY awards video got 100,000+ views on Vimeo, the awards preview got 300,000+ views across a number of platforms and even played at the Banff Film Festival -- > we need the best quality of your clips, please send the original files so they have the best chance of being included in the festival edit !!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

These guidelines are to help streamline the process on our end…  Proper labeling of clips is important so we don’t have to chase down the who/what/when/where’s

We need the clip you are submitting to show take off to landing, dropping in to stomping, if your deck blew, you swam or did not stick the trick on the wave, if you ran a sick entrance rapid - we need to have all the information possible so the judges can pick the best winners in each category.  *To be fair to everyone competing, failing to submit full completion will result in the clip not being included !!

The File:

If you need to trim the file down to the exact clip you want to send, follow these instructions to do so in QuickTime

Step 1 – make a copy/backup of your original file

Step 2 – open the raw file in QuickTime (free download - http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/)

Step 3 – trim and save the file to what you want to submit

Remember!:

Best Line/Best Drop/Carnage : We want to see you approach the rapid/drop you are running and we need to see how you came away from it at the bottom

Freestyle: we want to see your set up, execution, and landing of the trick, if you flush immediately or soon after include that, if you stomp the trick and continue surfing include that!

Steps to trim in Quicktime:

3a: In quicktime :  click “edit” scroll down and click trim

3b: Now in your QT window the time bar will be outlined in yellow

3c-3d: Trim your clip by click and dragging the edges on the time bar

3e: When you are finished click trim on the right

Step 4 : Go to file > save

Step 5 - Now you need to title the file PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS PLEASE

Name of Athlete, (country you are from/living)/name of drop/river/location AND what category you want your clip to be in !!

Having the clips come in Labeled this way is A HUGE HELP/TIMESAVER  Thankyou!  winning! almost done!

Example:

Johnny Coolbreeze, USA, Best Line, Rapid # 9, Zambezi River, Zambia

Sally Swingtime, CAN, Best trick, Skookumchuck narrows, British Columbia

For the Category keep it simple -  Best Line/Best Drop/Best Trick/Carnage!/Downriver Freestyle
